Warners summer corset

United States
c.1908-1910. A white cotton net summer corset made by Warner's. Special summer corsets made out a open weave lacey net material were worn by Victorian and Edwardian women during the summer in an effort to make corset wearing more comfortable during the hot weather.
Fashionable in shape, this corset has the diagonal seams and straight busk of the Edwardian S-bend corset but has a slightly longer shape, coming well down over the hips, foreshadowing the longline corsets of the 1910's.
Lace trim decorates the top of this summer corset and 4 stocking suspenders are present. The corset is not lined and is boned with "Rustproof" steels. Rustproof steels, were watchspring bones covered in paper. A white cotton twill tape on the inside has the model number of no. 357 on it.
Measurements: Bust 29", Waist 21", Hips 33", Busk length 12".
