R&G No. 208 extra long waist corset

United States
c.1893- 1896. A white coutil corset with white sateen bone casings made by the R&G (Roth & Goldschmidt) corset company (South Norwalk, Connecticut).
The model no. 208, has an extremely long shape and high bust, a style which would have suited a tall, full busted lady. The corset is boned with flexible watchspring but has narrow whalebones at the high, heart shaped bust for extra support. The long, curved busk is back with a curved and wider, busk protector to prevent the busk from snapping from wear. A narrow band of scalloped trim with yellow embroidery decorates the top of the corset and "X" shape pattern of flossing decorates and reinforces the bone casings. in
In 1893, model no. 208 retailed in Canada for $1.50 and in 1896, retailed for $1.75. It was only available in sizes 18" to 26" waist.
Measurements: Bust 30", Waist 20", Hips 31", Busk length 14".
